1. Check Your Internet Connection

Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Try refreshing the page or accessing other websites to confirm connectivity.

2. Use a Supported Browser

SharePoint works best with the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Older browsers or Internet Explorer may cause playback issues.

  • Update your browser to the latest version.
  • Try opening the video in a different browser.

3. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Sometimes cached data can cause loading problems.

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
  • Restart the browser and try loading the video again.

4. Verify Video Permissions

Ensure you have the proper permissions to view the video.

  • Contact your SharePoint administrator to confirm your access rights.
  • If the video is shared externally, verify that sharing settings allow you to view the content.

5. Check the Video Format

SharePoint supports common video formats like MP4 and WMV.

  • Confirm that the video is in a supported format.
  • If you uploaded the video, consider converting it to MP4 and re-uploading it.

6. Reduce Video File Size

Large video files may take longer to load or may fail to play.

  • Compress the video using a video editing tool.
  • Upload a lower-resolution version of the video if possible.

7. Verify Network or Firewall Settings

Sometimes corporate firewalls or network settings block video streaming.

  • Check with your IT department to ensure video streaming is allowed.
  • Try accessing the video from a different network.

8. Clear SharePoint Site Cache (For Admins)

If you are a site administrator, clearing site cache or resetting the web part may help.

Still Having Trouble?

  • Try downloading the video file directly and playing it locally.
  • If the video was recently uploaded, allow some time for the file to process.
  • Contact your SharePoint administrator or IT support for further assistance.
  • You can also submit a support ticket via our Support Portal with details about your browser, SharePoint URL, and error messages received.
